Boils and pestilence... well, just one boil

This morning brings me a boil on my inner thigh. Nice. It's small yet which means it's going to be around for a while, probably. Or maybe I can chase it away before it gets serious. Internet searches for info on skin boils is really just gross. But everyone says heat. So I have microwaved rice grains in a sock on the boil ...

I was wondering what swimming would do to it - pros and cons - and then I got an email from the first handyman - the one who answered my email from his phone on Saturday night. He says he'll be here later this morning which probably kills swimming anyway. So my plan now is scare the boil away today and get the windows rehung and swim tomorrow. But, plans can change. If he gets here early enough, I might give swimming a try anyway.

My CPA says that the tax advantage of contributing to my 401K stops at $22K for me this year. That's a severe chunk of change to be carved out of my paycheck for 6 months. Depending on my workload, I might not even make that much in some paychecks. This could be interesting. I'll be looking to my financial adviser for financial advice on this one!

The baseball game is at 4. I love playing the east coast.

In my experience the best and quickest way to get rid of a boil is to beat it into submission with oral antiobiotics. And that, of course, requires a doctors visit ...

Hot moist soaks might be better than just heat. The idea is to draw blood to the area, and the soften the skin so it can form a head that can be lanced (don't squeeze) and drained.

And we on the East coast hate playing on the West coast. Can never stay up long enough to even watch the pregame.

I absolutely remember that hell. Probably why I appreciate the reverse so much - plus first pitch is always always before my bedtime :)
