I suffer from itchy boobs. It started about 3 or 4 years ago. I'd get these bouts of really itchy boobs. Usually, though, only 1 of them. It was really really uncomfortable and made me a little nuts. And the nipple would start to resemble chapped lips. Then after a month or so, it would go away completely. No itch, no chap. Then six months later it would come back. Always one boob at a time - rarely the same boob. About a month ago, it started again. Last night it was killing me. I had googled before with no luck but last night I hit pay dirt. Did you know that you can get a yeast infection of the boob??!!!! Yes, you can. And you don't have to be nursing or even young. I can get a yeast infection in my crotch faster than you can blink. As my periods slowed down and stopped (Ihopetogod) they, too, abated. Now they are showing up in my boob. Wild. I dug out the cream I use to fix crotch rot and lathered up my nipple last night before bed and this morning before work and I swear to you, it's healing. There is zero itch right now. Amazing.

And while I'm on health issues, let me make note of the tasting problem. I'm fairly sure it is dental related so I also know until there is severe pain, I am going to chose to live with the tasting problem. I can taste less and less. I had part of a Hershey bar last night and could not taste it at all. I can no longer taste butter. I can taste peppermint and eggs and cheese a little bit. Some breads still have an unpleasant taste/perfume. It is very strange.

And then there's my skin - specifically the skin on my arms. When my Mom was my age she started getting these splotches on her arms where she scratched the skin either on purpose or accidentally. The slightest scratch would make a red mark like slight bleeding just under the thin layer of skin. It looked gross. Of course, I inherited it. I try not to scratch my arms at all. And in the winter when I wear long sleeves, it doesn't matter. But the other day, I forgot and scratched my arm and it's got this very gross red birthmarky looking place on it the size of a couple of quarters. Gross.

Years and years of benign neglect is taking it's toll I guess. At some point, I suspect, something somehow is going to force me to get medical attention. I do pity the poor doctor who gets me. I'm really like a science project gone bad.

Something that mentions nipples and you think it isn't interesting?

Really think it is dental related? Not the nose or sinuses?

Not that I know anything, but taste seems more like a nose thing.

Hey, I know what it is like, It was over 30 years that I did not get any dental care. If it had not been for the pain, I still wouldn't go.

Never affected my taste though. Maybe it is related to the yeast thing. I know that can affect the mouth too. Or at least I think it can.

I looked it up and yeast infections can also affect the mouth. Might have something to do with your taste thing.

(This isn't considered practicing medicine without a license is it?)

I don't think I would put the cream in my mouth.

Try mouthwash instead. LOL.

I love that you posted all of that!
and Im glad you found the cure.

Im all itchy and scratchy right now too. Im hoping its just that time of year and will clear up with the weather.

Im worried about the taste thing though...
seems I heard a while back that losing your sense of taste is one of the early signs of alzhiemers??
dont mean to be an alarmist...but next time you get to the dr. you should definitly bring it up.

If you have something interesting you may as well have an appropriate hook to hang it on.
