Even when I know it isn't rational
Apr. 22nd, 2005 10:09 amI hate my sister. I cannot think of one single thing that she could do that I would think is good, worthy, kind, smart or admirable. Not one. The bitch just pisses me off. I'm like a 2 year old screaming 'MINE!'
This morning I get a note from Mom that she can't find MSWorks (she never remembers how to get to it, no matter how many shortcuts I sprinkle all over her computer) and she can't get to http://www.appleseeds.com. And would I please fix.
So I hop onto her computer to check it out and there's my sister writing an email to her husband - using Mom's email account. So I get off and send a note for them to let me know when the computer is free. I get a note saying the computer is free. I go back and try again. There is definitely something wrong - some kind of hijack. I'm about half way into looking into it and here's someone trying to write a note. So I back out and send a note saying to let me know when the computer is available.
I get a note from my sister:
"This is me on Mom's computer. You should know that the cursor is just going all over the place with no one touching the mouse. You need to fix it right away."
Wow. Gee. I live for your commands. Especially since the last time she visited Mom it took me forever to get all the crap off the computer that she collected there. I do not know what kind of websites she visits but her own computer must just be a technical compost heap.
I was able to run one spyware program finally - Spybot died on me but I got Microsoft's to finish successfully. There is still a problem. She loves loves the MSNBC site and will have no other for her default web page. But that's the page that buggered. I cannot get from MSNBC to http://www.appleseeds.com - every try throws me right to http://www.msn.com.
I gave up for now. My sister takes Mom's car to a wedding in North Carolina this weekend so I can fix it this evening and at least know it will work for a couple of days. Then I can do it all again after she leaves for the second time.

Maybe you should just wait until she's GONE from your Mom's before you try to sanitize it. I, of course don't know the woman, but from last year and today's post, it seems like she would have it screwed up again within 5 minutes of turning it on when she returns from the wedding.
How aggravating for you, not to mention your Mom.
