susandennisLast night as I'm in the bathroom taking out my contact, all of a sudden my eyes landed on the tube of Gel-Kam. Had you been standing there, you could have actually seen the lightbulb go off atop my head. Through the magic of LJArchive I easily discovered that I have been using the stuff religiously for a month. Which pretty much coincides with my acquiring this after/over taste problem.
hmmmmm A googling of the situation does not turn up a bunch of info that all says 'side effect of using Gel-Kam is altered taste sensation'... but I did turn up one reference that it could happen and my common sense tells me I'll bet it did. PLUS there is a really easy way to check. Stop using the stuff!!!
So I did and we will see. Now the reason I was using the stuff was to help desensitize my teeth. This was going to be a good thing with the impending dental doom. How much irony could there be in this... What's sending me to the dentist is being caused by what is enabling me to go to the dentist with less fear???

And sadly, I must report that my external hard drive repair situation is turning into a massive disappointment. When the thing first failed, I contacted the company and the guy said it sounded like an easy fix. So instead of buying a USB hard drive casing and trying moving the hard drive from the broken casing to the new one, I decided to let him try. I sent it to him. He got it a week ago last Monday. I got one email from him on that Tuesday saying that he would check with 'repair' who inventoried all the incoming before it got to him. I have never heard from him since. I have sent emails to him and called him and nothing. I'll keep trying but I think we can pretty much bid a fond farewell to that hard drive.
