Today is my last day for having much work to do for the next few weeks.  One project will be going nearly completely dim and the other will likely be napping to rest of for a giant haul in August/September.  Today was a bit of a push but it's done and likely my days will be mine for a while.

During wait times on the work project this morning, I obsessed about the hotel in Las Vegas next January.  I was all set for the Clarion  until I discovered that the $279 room is only $65 any other time and that got me to thinking while I admire the ability to take advantage of a profitable situation, I might not want to spend that kind of money on what is really a low budget room.  I waffled back and forth and then read online reviews.  Even taking into consideration that many reviews only happn because people being pissed off, even the relatively good ones sounded like this room was well worth the $65 but not much more.

BUT, now I was hooked on the idea of staying within walking distance of the convention center.  (The monorail is great but most of the time the line to wait to pay to get on it - during CES - is 45-60 mins and tedious.)

So, why not the Wynn?  The room rates are about the same but the Wynn looks much nicer and I've always like Steve Wynn.  So that's my current thinking.

I can't book my flight because Southwest is only book through January 4.

I'm going to let this cool for a while.

I still haven't decided which movie I'm going to see tomorrow.  I think I'm just going to wake up and wing it.  Chef Anita left me some goodies so it may be omelet time.  If she's chopping/using good stuff that goes together - like mushrooms, bacon, onions, for instance, she'll pop the leftovers into a container and mark it goodies.  I use it for omelets or to flavor a baked potato or sometimes over pasta.  It's a fun treat and a cute thing for her to do.

Tonight will be bear and baseball time.  Last night, the Mariners actually won and not because the other team lost either. I mean they really got their shit together for once.  It was fun and always nice to see at least once a year.

The Wynn can't possibly lose! (Haha, I'm lame.) I've never stayed, but it's a beautiful hotel. I hadn't considered the lines at the monorail for your big conference. I think this idea is a good one!

I have always wanted to stay at the Wynn. Just checked there after reading your post, but the week I need the room is $300 per night and I am paying $135 per night at the Clarion. I am still keeping my options open for better things. I am just happy I have something locked in for SEMA week so close to the convention center at this point.
