Hats off to Janine!!!

susandennisJanine has been reading my journal for a long time. She's kind enough to even comment now and again even though she doesn't use Live Journal herself.

machupicchu.. I first met machupicchu years and years ago - we think via an LJ community about cat pictures. Then after years of onlineness, we finally did meet in person. After years of reading and hearing about Gabriel, I finally did meet him in person briefly just a couple of weeks ago. Maybe one day, I'll even meet Janine!!

I just saw a G+ entry from my brother "Sitting in a budget rental truck waiting for roadside assistance. Fourteen and a half hour drive to des Moines ahead ten minutes completed when I discovered the brakes were gone. Fluid leak. Ninety three degrees." I can see on his webcam that his wife and two of his dogs are not with him. So I'm guessing he took Zoe, his bff black dog, and is off to pick up something that requires more than his pick up truck. Enquiring [sic] Minds are Very Curious.
Swim class was great today. We have three more weeks until that pool - the closet one to my house closes for a month for upkeep work. It's going to be a long month.
No work but that's ok. I have enough hours for this pay period which ends on Friday. I also have enough hours in the PTO bank to cover me for two solid pay periods (a month) if I need it so there's really no stressing there.
I'm thinking about maybe going over to that mall tomorrow to get the rest of my Ghost Armor on my phone. I had planned on going after swim class on Saturday but tomorrow might be better.
Oh, just got a reply on G+ from my brother. Turns out his youngest son is moving to Des Moines and Bill is driving him up there and then flying back on Saturday. Matt (the son) moved to Georgetown (where my brother is) about 8 years ago now, a couple of years after my brother landed there. Along the way Matt fell in love with a whacko who added his daughter to her breed of 4 or 5 other kids. Then last year she moved with all the kids - including Matt's daughter - to be near her family in Minnesota.
I guess maybe she moved to Des Moines and now Matt's going there so he can be where he can spend quality and quantity time with his daughter. Only they are stuck on the side of the road in the Texas heat. Thankgod I am so far away that I cannot even feel guilty about helping them.
My brother and I just swapped some more notes. He did not know we lived in Des Moines before him. I had my 3rd birthday- wild party - there. I'm pretty sure he was actually conceived there. Then we moved to Kansas City where he was born.
And now he and Matt are in Applebee's enjoying the air conditioning while the guy fixes the truck.

Finger update... It has never been as bad as it was for those few days a few weeks ago but it hasn't been 100% either - more like 75%. I noticed yesterday and today that it is getting far closer to $95% on the way to 100% Whew. I was pretty worried that it was going to hurt from now to forever.
