Retired, Day 2

My house is clean, my laundry is done.  I do have a couple of closets I could clean out and I have a load of stuff for Goodwill.  So it's not like there is nothing to do...  

I have a couple of novels going - one on the kindle and one audio. This morning I just laid in bed and read some before I got up. Luxurious.  I also spent some quality time with my finances - planning, sorting, looking up stuff.  

It's luxurious just to operate on a whim.  Disconcerting but luxurious.  

My swim exercise class is at noon and I'm going to make the bear delivery on the way.  If the sun is not out when I get home, I might walk down to the market and back.  Or I might not.  

It dawned on my last night that the fair is coming up.  I looked it up and, sure enough, it starts the 7th of September.  This year I can go any day I want and I plan to.  El cheapo tickets go on sale August 20.  A senior ticket is $7.50. There is no shuttle bus this year so I'll drive.  Parking is more than the ticket - $10 but no matter, I'm going and I'm going to love it.  Baby animals and quilts.  And corn dogs and elephant ears.  It will be a nice test of my walking around looking at shit ability - CES training.

Fair? What fair? Ooo... Will there be rides, and games? I've been to a relatively small mobile carny earlier this year. Beyond turning my stomach upside down on one of the rides I enjoyed it and want to do something like that again.

There's the Washington State Fair (Monroe) and the Western Washington Fair (Puyallup) and yes, they both have rides - I don't know about games.

Excellent, those keywords turned up just what I needed. I'm going to see about going to the Evergreen State Fair w/Brian and possibly some of his friends, or something. That's still two weeks away, though, so I have plenty of time to plan something out.
