Lots of progress - not so much details... yet

I have a new hot water heater and this one does not have a layer of dust on the top like the old one did. It's shiny and new. And belted to the wall for earthquakes and with a drip pan. The guy was an hour late which was about par for this whole hot water heater festuche. Except. When he got here, he was delightful. Really. Very nice and very polite and interesting and fun to have around. So it was fine.

John the magical handy man installed very cool message boards - details later with pix, I promise. And he assembled a beautiful new credenza for the front all - again, pix later.

But, I do have one pic for you now. While Matt - the hot water heater guy - was here, I did actually install all the TV bits into the media cabinet. Worked out fine. The cabinet is wonderful and I think it looks really nice. Oh and everything works.

That looks great! I like how you doubled up the electronic equipment rather than having one piece in each slot as you did at first.

Thanks! The one-in-each-slot just looked lame to me. I think this is better, too. And I totally forgot to mention the new floor lamp that Sheri found. It's very cool. I promise total pictorial this weekend.

I think we have the same TV.

I want one entertainment center that size as well. I hear the Tivo box needs breathing room, or else it will malfunction.

The entertainment center is really 2 side by side and they are available at your local Crate and Barrel!

The Tivo box (actually both Tivo boxes) have more air circulation now than they have had for the 5 and 2 years I've had them! They are just PC's the fan's in the back which, in this cabinet, is open air.

Are the Tivo boxes especially noisy? (My Brand X (Replay) has a particularly loud hard disk in it.)

You know... I've never heard any of my Tivos! I never thought to listen. So, I'm thinking, the answer has got to be no. I have a 5 year old one, a 1 year old refurbished one and a 1 month old refurbished one and none of them make a sound. Thanks. I didn't know to be grateful!

Yeah, I can hear our TiVo's disk rattling when things are otherwise quiet.

And by the way, I am the only one who thinks that TiVo icon (which is presumably intended to suggest a happy television) looks like a big stupid insect?
