Festuche ReDeux
May. 17th, 2005 08:51 amThis was particularly appropriate for yesterday... Here I was all stressed out about the impending dental doom. I had made arrangements to leave 30 minutes early from work. Of course, one one, not two but several things at work conspired to turn to shit as the time to leave approached. All in all even the most simple things were rapidly turning into festering festuches.
And in the middle of it all, I got an email that a comment had been left on an old LJ entry...
Too Funny! I work at IBM in White Plains and someone just used Festuche in the hall way. There was some discussion as to whether it is a real word. Upon Googling "Festuche" I was directed to your website where I see many references to IBM. Are you still affiliated (i.e. Susan Dennis/Somers/IBM ?. Whwright@us.ibm.comWhwright and I exchanged a few fun emails. Turns out the other two Susan Dennis's are still at IBM! Those are some surviving women, lemme tell you!
But I do love that Google has brought new life to festuche. Still such a wonderful word.
Did you ever work in Somers?
Date: 2005-05-17 05:34 pm (UTC)Hardly anyone has ever heard of Somers. But I go there every few years because my aunt lives there. In fact, I was just there 3 weeks ago.

Date: 2005-05-17 05:43 pm (UTC)It's one of the other Susan's and, I suspect, the one who was my manager at one time. The other Susan Dennis was an engineer. In his emails he told me where the other one worked and it sounded more like where she might be posted.

Date: 2005-05-18 08:55 pm (UTC)The other day I found myself wanting to use it in an email. I couldn't quite remember the correct spelling so I looked it up in the dictionary. Well, I thought it was a word, but then where was it? So I Googled it and your name popped up. Lights started coming on as ancient synapses started firing again.
A most wonderful term!
