susandennisBefore I was laid off, I did work as a vendor for Microsoft. In hopes of easing traffic and parking bottlenecks, Microsoft gives every employee and contingent staff (vendors, etc) a free bus pass. It was credit card that was good anytime and every time on our bus system and I loved it. But, alas, I had to give it back when I got laid off.
Two months after I got laid off, Seattle discontinued the free buses downtown program which was my 'moving sidewalk'. Most of my bus riding was in the free zone. So major Le Sigh.
Today, I got two identical pieces of promo mail from the bus company. Each had 4 free bus tickets to be used anytime between now and January 31 on any bus in the city!!
Lightbulb.
A while back, Scott, the building manager installed a junk mail trash can. There's a slot by the mail boxes and it is just a shoot to a giant trash can.
Just now I went down and tore through the top layer of today's junk mail and scored 8 more promo mails that my neighbors trashed. Each as 4 tickets in it!!!
Heck, I might go down later on this evening after everyone else gets home from work and throws their free tickets into the trash.
Note to self: Now you must quit laughing at Neighbor Ann when she dives in there for Bed Bath an Beyond coupons.
