[livejournal.com profile] machupicchu and I hit the road today. We drove to Olympia, had brunch at his folks' restaurant, and then took the long way home via the Bremerton ferry. It rained hard for lot of the trip and we saw beautiful fall trees.

It reminded me of how much I love living in the middle of a city!!

By the time the ferry docked, the Seahawks game was ending. By the time I got back home from dropping Matthew off, it was over and there was no way to get home. I finally found a way to get there (many streets and intersections were closed down) but the traffic made getting all the way home impossible. I got close to the front of the building and a parking space appeared and I grabbed it. I'll go down and move the car into the garage in a bit.

Mainly it was just a lovely lovely outing and a fun day.

That's a nice drive, especially SR 3 and the peninsula. I've driven pretty much the whole length of SR 3, and all of SR 16 to Gorst, before continuing on with SR 3 to SR 305 that takes you onto Bainbridge Island.

SR 3 will also take you to the Hood Canal Bridge and, from there, take you to Pt Angeles, and Pt Townsand along with other towns up that way.

That's why I have a car, and do road trips from time to time.

We've driven that route as well, although not in a single trip.

What a lovely part of the world you live in, somehow when the rain is coming down it adds rather than takes away from the beauty. As long as you aren't standing out in it of course!

You'd think they would somehow come up with a way residents could get to their parking spaces.

Will there be a brunch post?
