Thank goodness I have been keeping up my applications and the logging of same. Whew. This afternoon, after getting the letter, I prettied up my spreadsheet and got it printer ready.

I'm good. Worst case scenario, I am deemed a Violator and have to pay back what I've gotten so far (about $5K). I'd rather not do that. So I'll be glad to get this behind me. BUT, as I was told in the class that started this off, I can get one of these letters at any time and maybe multiple times before the end of my tour. So no slacking off!

If you're deemed a violator (the first time, anyway), they'll send you home with a list of your sins and how they can be corrected, and you'll get rescheduled for a 2nd look a week or so out.
Make sure your ID number with them is on EVERY sheet of paper, and dates are complete ('Oct 10' = Fail, 10/10/2012 = Pass!). Addresses or websites must be completely written out, I got dinged for 'Boeing', and had to write www.boeing.com for EVERY application I submitted there. It's stupid, petty shit, but that's how they roll. It's all fixable...you'll be OK. The true slackers really, REALLY suck at their forms. Some girl in the UI office when I was there was on the phone with a friend who was reading her leads off of Craigslist to fluff her forms with while she waited.

Is this a WA thing? All I ever had to do when I was collecting unemployment (three different times) down here in sunny CA was check a box on the bi-weekly "send me more money, please" form which affirmed I was available for work. For most of the times I was unemployed there were no jobs in my field to apply for.

In WA, we have to fill out an online form every week, make 3 job contacts every week and keep a detailed log of those three contacts - if none in your field, you get to try another field. At any time you may be called to come in for an audit of your log. That's what I get to do next week.

If you don't do your 3 contacts - you have to give the money back.
