May. 24th, 2005 10:09 amSheri is right this minute ordering this... It will sit in my living room. I remember when I first moved in, my friends, the Jims, came to visit and spent an entire weekend trying to talk me into moving the computer out of the living room. One of the Jims was, back then, in architecture school and he used my condo as one of his presentation projects - <1,000 sq feet living space w/ single daylight source. I think he got an A. They both loved the place but it was bad enough that the TV was in the living room but it was really a sin to have the computer in there.
They did me a huge favor that weekend. They solidified my conviction that it was MY house. My living room. I could put the fucking bed in the living room if I wanted to. I did not have to have a dining room table. Or any eating table. Bless their hearts. I have totally lost track of them so I do not have to tell them how far over the edge I have gone.
Sheri is going over this afternoon to wait for the carpet binding guys. We are having two pieces of leftover carpet cut and bound. One for the kitchen and one for the half bath. They are coming over today to pick up the remnants. While she's waiting she's going to hang some of the pictures. There are a fair number of things that will go on the wall that do not need framing or reframing - those are the ones she will hang. And, maybe she'll take the others down to Laura (my neighbor/framer) and get her started.
I got a new shower curtain yesterday that Sheri needs to vote on. It has to be fun (for me) and go with the bathroom (for Sheri). I think I found the perfect one.. but it won't go up unless she votes yes. So she's going to vote today.

Date: 2005-05-24 11:00 pm (UTC)This past year I finally threw out my old steel desk that I have had since my parents got it for me in high school. [No, I won't tell you how old that makes it.] [Oh, all right: I've had it since 1954.] I am currently using a table, but that isn't satisfactory. However, the new desk is waiting until I sort out how I'm going to arrange my new computer room.
