One side effect of not-working is acquiring laser focus on stuff that truly does not need it. As of the first of December, I am supposed to have a small IBM pension deposited into my checking account. Also as of the first of December, all of my prescriptions are to be transferred over to Walgreens.

Today is the first workday of December. My bank picked this morning to be not available 'doing maintenance' and Walgreens shows no sign of my prescriptions.

It so does not matter! At least does not matter today or tomorrow... next week, even, would be fine and yet, I'm so frustrated!!

I fiddled with my alarms this weekend and ended up fucking them up which resulted in a nice discovery. John Hockenberry has a new (to me) radio show called The Takeaway. It's on at 6 but an Oklahoma station has it at 7 which is better for me so now I have my alarms all rest. Hopefully. Of course, that, too, does not matter one bit.

I am skipping 'getting used to' and going right to 'really liking' the LJ changes. The edit functions work great for me and I love that, in Chrome anyway, I get a little number that shows me how many new entries are there since I read last. I do miss my own theme but I'm quickly getting over that.

Today I have swimming at 11 and on the way, I will deliver the month's bears. I also have a bunch of stuff to turn into the library. This afternoon, Tija (neighbor and owner of the gym across the street) says she can get me into the upper floors of her building so I can get a picture of the adorable Christmas tree the Department of Transportation put up on the stump of the old bridge.

So I think I'll get up and get dressed!

At least you're aware of it and you have things going on to take your mind off your unnecessary obsessions. And nobody but yourself to bug with them (other than the companies if you so choose). My shut-in grandmother started obsessing about having someone make sure that the next morning's coffee was ready to go (grounds and water in, all you had to do was push a button) before noon the previous day. She refused a coffee maker with a timer. You get the idea. ;) I think the mind needs things to focus on and sometimes it's any port in a storm.
