I picked up my cellphone to see if I had my brother's cellphone number in there and discovered a voice mail message from Polly from YESTERDAY afternoon! It was not there this morning. Sprint is working my last nerve.

And, Polly needed Mom's living will because the hospital needed a copy. Crap. [edit: crap that they needed me and couldn't get me. not crap about the living will. I'm glad about the living will and that they asked for it.]

No answer on Polly's cell. No answer at Polly's house. Left messages and called my brother. He suggested I call the hospital and talk to the nurses station. So I did and got a great woman who already knew who I was. She also had my cellphone number (not that it would do any good... fucking Sprint)... and now she has my land line number. And she said that Polly had found the living will and brought it in. She said Mom was doing ok and did I want to talk to her?

Mom sounded fuzzy and said it was nearly time for 'them to bring me pain stuff' but she slept good and she was doing ok. And she said she was not interested in going home just yet. She also volunteered that when she does leave the hospital, she'll be going to the nursing wing of 'the home'. Her regular doctor was out of town yesterday but should be back tomorrow morning so we'll all know more then.

My brother says if there is even a whisper that he or his wife could be of any help whatsoever, they will be on the road in a heartbeat.

Oh and Mom said that Polly was at a concert this afternoon. So, I'm sure when she gets home and gets all of my messages, she will call.

Sometimes the sucker punch (request for living will) comes out of the blue, eh? Here's hoping after a good recup, Mom gets back her feisty self.

Thoughts and prayers and shit.

I've just learned about your mom's mishap. I wish her a speedy recovery and will keep her in my prayers.
