I got the final info for my laptop RMA. ASUS customer service does not give me the warm and fuzzy.  Their latest email says 'click here' in many places but is not HTML so there is no clicking possible.  And the translation to English is iffy.  It's a long email with vast stretches fairly senseless.

But, I just typed out a nice meaty LJ entry and, in the middle, the power plug worked it's way out and killed the machine before LJ could even grab the draft to save.  PHUQUE.  I did google around for experiences with ASUS warranty repair and found mostly good to excellent stories so in it goes.  I just hope they don't break it even more.

My favorite shipping place is a great little UPS branded shop on the other side of town.  It is always packed with the cheeriest and most helpful people.  It's a little fiddly to get to from here but it's not a bad shot from the Friday/Saturday pool so I'll take it tomorrow for dropping off after class.

---

The last of my big drug order came in yesterday afternoon so I'm good for drugs for at least 3 months.  My three inhalers are the big ticket items and will be come even bigger tickets under the new insurance.  1 of them I don't need as much so I probably have a 6 month or more supply of it.  And I wonder if I can cut back on the other two.  One is twice a day and one is once a day.  Maybe skip a dose now and again - to stretch out the time between having to buy.  I think, if I'm careful, I can probably do that without impacting my breathing too badly.  It's worth a shot.  Worst case, I pant for a day and don't skip again.

Today is bear delivery and swim class at noon - at the nearby pool.

ASUS emails and customer service is sometimes well, stupid. However if you get them to realize the correct part is broken, that part does get fixed and quickly. The techs that work on the machines seem to be good.

That being said, next time I get a new laptop, I am probably getting a square trade warranty. ASUS customer service is too damn annoying to deal with. I love Asus products though (I have 2 laptops, a netbook, a router, and a motherboard from them at the moment).

Square Trade often has sales!

Here is hoping they get it figured out.

I don't think so. I get emails from them.
