I switched to Verizon and bought a Galaxy Note II. I finally figured out the options and the price disparity. Amazon (and Best Buy and Costco, and Letstalks, etc) all give better price breaks on the phone than the Verizon store and... if what you want is there stock package at $100 or more a month, it's a FAB deal. BUT if you want less than their stock package plan (like I do) then their deal is not as good as Verizon's.
Plus, my new best friend, Howard, tossed in $50 worth of cool flip covers in my favorite colors. Color me Happy Camper.
Sitting in my orange chair I have 4 times the fastest speed I ever saw on Sprint. Of course, I always use wifi at home so around town will be the test. I can take it back within 14 days if it doesn't perform like i want. I'm thinking however, they will get this back only when pried from my cold, dead hands.
Sprint has this deal with Google Voice. You can make your Sprint number be your Google Voice number. Verizon does not have that but I want my Sprint number to be my Google Voice number so that no matter what phone or plan or service provider I have, I can keep the same number I've had for more than 20 years.
So I ported that number over to Google Voice. This *should* mean that my Sprint account will get canceled. We'll see. The Google Voice info says it takes about 3 days. I'm guessing it will be one day or less. I'm cool with whatever. I paid my $20 and when I go to my Google Voice page it says the port is in progress.
I'm a done deal.
I went right from Verizon to Ghost Armor to have them install the screen protector. This cost $30 but is good for the life of the phone (and if the phone breaks or something happens to the protector, they will replace for free.) I could get a nice screen protector for probably $5 or even less but I can never get the damn things on right and the Ghost Armor ones are just never wrong and last way longer than the phone.
Then on to Trader Joe's for my cinnamon/crack buns and some chicken salad for lunches and now I'm home.
Time to play with the new phone/toy.
