On Sunday, I placed an order on the Origins website. I got an acknowledgment back immediately and didn't hear another thing. Today I went to their website to learn that my order had been canceled. They offer up no email address - only a very annoying form - so I called. A woman who sounded as if her first name was Muffy was just "SOOOOOOO sorry but it looks like there was a problem with your credit card." I checked and, sure enough, the card number was wrong. But, and I asked Muffy, wouldn't it have been advantageous to both of us for them to let me know they had canceled the order and maybe - just maybe - offered to reorder for me with a new card?? Muffy allowed as how that would be great idea... Byte me.

Against my better judgment, I reordered. The first order - the one they canceled - had two free items that I got automatically. The reorder did not. That, of course, pushed me over the edge. I was afraid to call Muffy back so I fought the fucking form. And a fucking form it was. But I did send them my concerns as well as the quickest way to turn me from a really pissed off customer to a happy customer. We'll see. I'm thinking I'm going to be an ex-customer.

And Sheri... Sheri... I so love what she does but I cannot get her to understand that it is soooo better to tell me the truth instead of what she thinks I want to hear. She has a tenuous grasp on the concept of time. If I had a nickel for every time I've asked her 'when can I expect that?', I could probably by the condo next door and decorate it, too. She cannot 'get' that I am very interested in knowing 'when'.

So I have to ask every time and she rarely gets it right the first time and often not even the second. I don't know if she just guesses or if her vendors are lying to her but she'll tell me 'oh it looks like Thursday...' and come Thursday, when I ask again, I learn that it's Monday. It really makes me nuts. She really needs to understand that 'how much' and 'when' are two questions that are critical to the decision making process.

But, the what.ever tide may be turning... I got a bill from the dentist. For $180 which was less than I thought it was going to be. Plus, the invoice had a notation that they had billed the insurance company. So I called. "You want me to go ahead a pay this, right? Then we'll settle later if/when the insurance company kicks in?" "Nope. Just treat that as FYI. We'll send you another invoice with any difference that you need to cut a check for." Nice.

And tomorrow's Friday.

I love happy bunny. I particularly love *that* happy bunny. I have a poster of him in my front hallway. It helps me keep my attitude straight. If I ever get a tattoo, it will be a pair of puckered up lips on a butt-cheek. I just have to decide what side.....

On another note, maybe you could just start translating Shari to english when she talks so when you ask when and she says "Thursday" you reply "so that means I'll really be seeing it Monday then" and see how long it takes her to get that you want the whole and real truth. Sometimes calling people on their BS to their faces makes them stop.
