LJ Friends Question
Jun. 7th, 2005 01:03 pmDon't most if not all of you read my journal via your friends' pages? So unless you comment, you never see the layout/template/scheme of mine? Right?
I've been screwing around with my layout and making sure it is exactly what I want to see everyday (who am I kidding - 12 times a day) for LJ catching up. I'm not so focused on the main page because except for the casual passerby and/or anonymous visitor, no one ever sees that, right?
Or am I missing something big in the clue department?

Date: 2005-06-07 08:29 pm (UTC)Sometimes if I've been gone for a day or two my friends' page can be overwhelming. So I'll go to my info page and start clicking on friends names to catch up on their journals. Then I see their style.

Date: 2005-06-08 12:52 pm (UTC)The nice thing about integrating the RSS feeds into Outlook is now I can read all the blogs like emails, since both blogs and emails are message-based, it contextually makes sense. It also makes it really easy to know what I've read and what I haven't, and to be able to archive entries I'd like to keep around for future reference.

Date: 2005-06-08 06:47 am (UTC)What started me doing it that way was when I switched to Firefox (although it was 'Phoenix' then) way back when and discovered that several journals I read then (and in the beginning there were only three I read) used styles that did not display readably in Firefox/Phoenix.
I've gotten to where I don't pay a lot of attention to the style of any page of my journal other than "friends". I figure there just aren't that many people who will see it. And for making entries in my own journal I usually use a client anyway.
