The mail today included a note from the clinic where my doctor has his practice. I love this clinic. It's way big enough to have all the services I need and want and small enough to be kind of a home town place. They are dipping their toe bravely into the digital age, too. I can do a lot online (notes to doctor, etc.) and today, I just discovered that I can also pay my bill online which is heaven.
Today they wanted to let me know I'm old. Medicare old, in fact. I am actually delighted. They hold seminars every month to answer questions. Plus they have a person who will sit down with you individually and walk you through the morass. I spent some time just now looking at drug/gap plans and it looks like my particular drugs will not kick in any giant fees like I thought they might.
Mostly I'm delighted they will help me and I can keep my doctor and it's not going to cost me an arm and leg. I can enroll in December, apparently.

I always thought it was dumb to have to mail in my Discover card number to pay the bill. Their online pay thing is rudimentary but so much better than none!
