Today, we are all little girls again - in our imagination.

My best friend until she moved away when I was 13, was Linda Rhyne. We called her Lemon. From age 13 until age 63, we were out of touch totally.  Last year she found me and we had a way too short but amazing visit and learned that even with a 50 year break, we are still on the same wavelength.

Since our quick visit, we have not had much communication, really. A few emails with months in between.

But, just now I got a text:

I have been playing with my Annette paper dolls in her memory....

I was sad to hear that Annette Funicello died today. The last time I saw her she was performing in Beach Blanket Babylon in San Francisco and she was singing "Pineapple Princess" while being lifted out of a Skippy peanut butter jar by two bodybuilders.
