Well, I think we can call the crematorium and put in a stop order. Yesterday she went to get her hair done. Today when I tried to tell her about my new desk, she wanted to talk about how she was going to decorate the new apartment she's moving into in the fall. And, just to prove to me that she's paying attention... Yesterday I told her about getting my contract extended. Today she says "So they want to keep your for another year? That's nice. Do you get to keep Stephen?" The interesting thing here is that I'm pretty darned sure that THE only time I EVER mentioned his name was last Thanksgiving when she asked "So, what's your boss's name?"

Oh yeah. She's on her way back.

My sister sent a note to us (me, bro, sister-in-law) wanting to coordinate visits. She's thinking she'll go in July and wants to know when we are going... Let me check my calendar. Oh, yeah. Thanksgiving. If Mom says to me 'please come visit me' I'll think about a trip before Thanksgiving but otherwise, I'll be there in November. I'm all about remote management.

As [livejournal.com profile] legalmoose so kindly reminded me yesterday... miles/timezones/gratitude

Yes. That sort of exchange is familiar. My mom used to act old and confused when it suited her purpose, then sometimes she would betray herself and say something coherent.

my day seriously doesn't get off to a start until I've checked in with the Seattle report :) This morning I was all 'when does Susan usually update' just so that I could think of planning my day around that fact.

hee!

CNN, NYTimes . . . nope. I'm all about the Susan news . . .

Oh how wonderful, Susan!! That's just awesome. I'm so very happy, for both you and her. In a day that is grey at best for me, this was very uplifting. Thanks for the update.

Piping in from the "Mom Cheerleading Squad:"

Goooooooooooo, Mom! Rah, Yay....!

I don't think your Mom, nor any of us are ready to let go yet!

So glad to know she's fiesty again.

* I'm chuckling as always when I hear your "sister" stories....you know...most families want to co-ordinate visits and dates and times of trips to parallel and occur together...he he he....not AVOID...and good for you...that 3k mile spread.
