I think I'm going to take this keyboard home from work and wash it in the dishwasher. I don't think I can stand using this filthy piece of crap for another whole year. There's a box of computer/misc bits and pieces that has been sitting over here in my cube room for the past 4 months. There are three keyboards sticking out of it. I grabbed the least filthy of the three and designated it my keyboard guinnea pig. It's going home with me tonight.

If it works after it's cleaned then I'll swap it out for this one and take this one home and do the same. And throw in my one at home. I'm don't want to pry off keys so it might not work. And, I suspect, it will take several days to dry out before I can even test. We shall see. And, of course, you will get all the gory details right here.

I buy my yarn (and I buy a fair amount of the stuff) and knitting needles at www.herrschners.com. I have for years. Their service sucks eggs but their prices are excellent and not many places carry my favorite yarn. The only two other places that carry it online are more expensive and way more expensive. So I suffer. Herrschners never 'gets' it. They take generally 3 days to ship the order and then 8-10 days delivery unless you pay for expedited shipping which means they only take 8 days for delivery. This has been this way for years. Oh and their 'track orders' webpage is rarely correct or up to date but ALWAYS referenced in the 'your order has shipped!!' email you get about 5 days after you order.

Every once in a while I send a note complaining. For as long as I can remember, when I have gotten a response, it's been from Bernie and he never answers all my questions and provides a decent answer to even one.

Today I got my annual note from Bernie not answering the 4 questions I asked about my latest order. Sometimes consistency is comforting.

Sheri and John are supposed to be at my house this morning installing the shelves over the kitchen sink that will house the coffee mugs. I will believe it when I see it. I have decided not to count on its happening and instead to focus on finding amusement on what their excuse for not doing it will be this time and when the next date for 'absolutely for sure having it done' will be.

The library has 3 things on hold for me but I don't think I'm going to have time to get them today. It is generally very easy to stop there on my way home and then just walk home from there. It's downhill. It's a major pain in the ass to get there from home - uphill. Oh, I just checked and the 'holds' do not expire until next Tuesday so I can stop on my way home Monday. Goodo.

Reminder!
