Bad, but not soooo bad

susandennisThanks to you guys who tested for me. It totally rocks that I can make a simple entry like that and nearly instantly have testers from all over giving me much needed info. Wow.
I have two domain/accounts with Total Choice Hosting which is generally a very good and very reasonably priced hosting service.

danlmarmot's suggestion of VisionGS webcam software a go. (Conquer cam was a major pain to restart after rebooting.) VisionGS is really nice! I had a devil of a time figuring out what it wanted for an ftp path. I finally hit on the solution and did some cleanup and forgot about it.
Then I went to check something on susandennis.org and I couldn't get there. Well, I was tired and the Mariners were losing and it was hot and humid in here and I just started fixing things. Never ever a good idea. Oh and I also sent Total Choice Hosting a help desk ticket.
I ran two different spam removal programs, no joy. I rebooted, no joy. I opened up a port that was the first response from the Total Choice Hosting ticket, no joy. I turned off the firewall, I turned off my virus protection. I couldn't there from IE or from Firefox or from any ftp program. (But, I could get to my other Total Choice Hosting account.)
I rebooted some more. I swore. I got your feedback that it really was just me and not the account. And finally I heard back from Total Choice Hosting... My account had been hit so much by MY IP that they blocked me! But, his note said he unblocked me and I still can't get to it.
Wait, here's another note. He said he forgot something and now it should work AND IT DOES! Fuck. And Whew. That was a relatively unnecessary firedrill.
But, I got no spyware on my system! And my webcams have a much nicer engine running them that just starts right up on its own after reboot. So... it's not all for naught. And I did make some headway on getting the desk stuff put away and organized. Much more to do tomorrow.
