susandennisThis morning I went in for my fasting lab work - blood draw and pee. The hard part, the blood draw, went great. My veins are as small as my butt is big. To get out enough blood, they usually have to poke in both inner elbows and then try for the hand which is always dicey. If they try for the hand and miss it can hurt like a somebitch and even if they hit it, the back of my hand is black and blue for a month.
But this morning the vampire found an elbow vein and hit it first try and I mean really hit it. She got enough out and fast so she only had to poke once. (And she had the prettiest fingers - piano fingers.) Between the poke and the bandage, the inside of that arm is a disaster area now, but that's what long sleeves are made to cover up!
Then I had to pee in a cup. Look folks, when you don't let me drink coffee, you don't get any pee. It's simple. I downed two bottles of water this morning and still I'll bet they didn't get enough. On the way home I thought... I should just bring it from home. And, you know what? Next time that's what I'm going to do. I know they would not like it if they knew but I'm not tellin'.
Anyway, it's all done now and I'm ready for my appointment with the good doctor on Monday.

I never did get to the pool yesterday. I think that's why, by the time I went to bed last night, I really felt like crap. Just uncomfortable in my own skin. I think it was from just not moving enough. We'll see today cause it will be about the same kind of day only with swimming inserted in the middle.

We've had gloriously cloudy mornings which means that by the time the sun comes out, it's way over my building's head and because I'm on the east side of the building, I stay relatively cool. Very nice.
