I just got the price (for approval) from Costco.Com for my two inhalers.  One is for a 3 month supply and one is for a 6 month supply and the total is $1,851.  I can get completely reimbursed for everything from $1,025-2,500 and then I pay 20%.  I am grateful for COBRA but  I am really looking forward to Medicare.

My third inhaler (which, I think, costs about $300 a month) is optional. A rescue inhaler. And the only time I can really tell it's doing me good is when I'm having a breathing attack and I haven't had one of those in a couple of years.

I do think it's interesting that you do not have to be a member to use costco.com pharmacy.  Nowhere in the process do they even ask.  I had to call to clear up some questions.  The first time I called, I got a pharmacy assistant with a giant attitude. I tried to work with her but she just wanted me to fuck off.  So I hung up.

I called back in 5 minutes and got a guy who was very much more helpful.

Interesting to note that a simple 0 bypasses their telephone tree and I had a live person on the line both times in under a minute.  Nice.

Swim class really really helped my massage hangover.  And I can touch my toes again.  My back and neck are still really sore to the touch but not when I move them so apparently the damage is totally superficial.

---

I scored a Groupon for the coffee shop downstairs.  $25 for $15.  And I found out they do half sandwiches so now my Groupon will even last longer.  It's such a delight to come home from swimming and swing in there to grab a sandwich before I even come upstairs to home!  Yeah.

My new computer arrived and it is beautiful - solid beauty - inside and out.  It really is.  And the keyboard and trackpad work without fail.  And I love it.  And I'm so glad I bit the bullet and got it.

---

I need to make an MP3 CD of some 130 BPM music for my swim class.  The good instructor said today that he was getting desperate for some new stuff and if we had any to please share. I have. I will.

Baseball is in New York tonight 4 pm start time. Nice.

You don't have to be a member but the cashiers will be confused.

Federal law prohibits restriction of access to the pharmacy. If they are the most affordable choice for you, then definitely get your meds there.

also works for liquor if you go to the warehouse.

i use costco.com for all my generic rx stuff (it's cheaper than the copay on my insurance). all the brand-name stuff has to come from the insurer's pharmacy (which doesn't sound kosher to me, but there ya go).

I have used their mail order pharmacy for years. I saw a news story once about how to save on subscription meds and that's when I learned that one needn't be a member. My current meds are so cheap there that I save more money there using no insurance than I would save using the pharmacy that my insurance requires for any real coverage. I have only had to use the specialty pharmacy required by my insurance when I was on something that Costco did not carry. I encourage everyone I know to use Costco, but many people have been so resistant to change and have such distrust of internet/mail order that they keep filling their scripts at the local pharmacy for $25+ a pop. You can lead a horse to water...

Oh, and so much of this is 'what henare said' but, shucks, I typed it all out so it stays! Interesting to know the 'why' provided by cienna2000.
