I hate to iron. I just hate it. It's hot work and I get no satisfaction from eliminating wrinkles. I am done ironing. I am going to hide the fucking iron.

Between all the curtains and the linings and the breaks, it has taken me all damn day to iron the things. So no sewing. No filing. No nothing. And, in fact, I couldn't even help the Mariners who have just turned a 5 run lead into a 1 run lead.

Crap.

But then they went and turned it into a 6-run lead. I guess they didn't need your help.

The Cubs, on the other hand, are definitely on my shit list.

I hate ironing too, I really like the way my clothes look but man does ironing ever suck. Every once in a while I gather everything up and take it to the dry cleaners and let them deal with it. At least they give me a discount, so it's probably just about the same if you turn my time into money and also throw in the cost of the electricity for the iron.

When I figured out how much time it took me to iron a shirt, factored in how many I could do in an hour, and then extrapolated how much per shirt my time was worth, I stopped ironing. Our pals down the road charge $2 per shirt, on the hangar, wash and iron. And they're better at it then me.

Of course it's also something to do with sloth.

I hate ironing too, and the dry cleaners is nice and all, but sometimes stuff wrinkles in the closet, or falls on the floor, or whatever, so I broke down and bought a steamer. All I have to do is wave this wand thing that looks a lot like a vacuum hose at the clothes and all the wrinkles fall out like magic. It works for me.

I got the shark euro-pro at target for about $60, and have had it about a year. It's bigger than the travel models, but has a built-in hanger for the item you are steaming, plus a lint-brush attachment for the steamer for de-fuzzing the clothes, and it is super easy to use. Best $60 I ever spent.

I am with you sister, I don't do ironing. I have now developed a knack of folding clean clothes so they look frsh and *almost* pressed!

You mean that thing you plug in and it gets hot and burns your fingers because you use it on that shakey upright funny shaped table? I have one buried somewhere.

Wimbledon starts today - so I guess for the next two weeks, your mom is going to be glued to the TV, eh?
