I woke up early - several times, actually.  So, finally, I just got up.  Even Zoey got up early this morning.  So we've been playing around on the computer and listening to the news on NPR and just generally enjoying the quiet morning.

No swimming available until 11. My plan is to try and find someplace to eat after but the baseball game starts at 11:30 so if I hit crowds or parking issues, I might just come on home.  I do want to pop into Home Depot to see about hanging wire for hanging up the t-shirt banner.  I can do that on the way to the pool.

That's about it for the plans so far.

About the time that it was revealed that J.K. Rowling actually wrote Cuckoo's Calling, my turn for the Kindle edition of it came up at the Library.  I never got into the Harry Potter books or her adult novel.  But I'm actually sucked into this one and I'm really enjoying it.  I've now got 3 books going - a novel via mp3, a novel on the Kindle and a non-fiction on Kindle. The library borrow is on a timeline otherwise, I wouldn't be quite that stacked up.  However, I am enjoying the riches.

Rowling did something with the Potter series which made it difficult for adults to get into. She started with a young young-adult format, and each book was at a progressively older reading level, with the final one perhaps high school. But you couldn't really come in in the middle, because of the way she established and grew the characters. I could see where she would be a good read if she just wrote something which started as a big people's read.
