Philips 32" Regular old not-flat, not-HGTV, not fancy at all... BUT, it does have S-video and 2 sets of composite jacks which means... I can hook up both TiVos and record two different shows at once while watching yet a third. Or, said another way, I can record Jeopardy (channel 4) AND House Hunters (channel 68) (both of which come on at 7:30 p.m.) AND watch the baseball game (channel 30) (which comes on at 7).

And, even with delivery and taxes, it's still under $400. I can live with that. Oh and it's just a little more than 1 inch wider than my current TV so it should be a nice replacement.

They are delivering next Sunday. Just got the confirmation. I'll freecycle the current TV.

I have a couple of simple questions about their (Best Buy's) delivery service and it's been fairly hilarious today to see if I can find the answers. I'm on my third telephone number/tree/CSR now and still no joy. But, they are in the business of selling shit cheap, not answering questions. I know that. So I'm cool with it.

Edit: Persistance pays off. I finally got a phone number of the local warehouse/delivery folks and got a fabulous young lady who found my order and said that if I ask the delivery people, they will take away the packaging materials and she said she would make a note for them to take the TV, too!! Yahoo!!

Well done. I am not ready for the big plunge (HDTV, LCD, etc) yet because it's still new and waaay too expensive for what you get. I guess the HD is supposed to be universally in force by 2006, but still, I would have to change TiVo, my satellite dish (not elliptical) plus I have flat-screen Sony 27" tube which is wonderful, but standard NTSC. Decisions, decisions.
