Tuesday bits

Mom got rid of her last sitter yesterday. As she says... "I'm FREE!!!!" There was an email this morning from her just like the ones I got every morning before the butt breaking. I didn't even call her this morning.

My Dental Extravaganza is scheduled for July 11. That's a week from next Monday. Devon is the office/front desk person who originally answered my email. Week before last I sent her an email confirming times and explaining that if the dentist was going to want me to take any medication or need anything that I don't currently have and will need to go to a pharmacy to get, I'd sure like to know it ahead of time. I explained that it will be very difficult for me to get to a drug store afterwords and that I did not have anyone to go for me. She replied that she would ask the dentist.

I realized yesterday I had not heard back. I wrote again. And I also remembered I had not gotten the cost estimate she had promised. So today I wrote for that. I wish she was a bit more responsive. When she does respond it is so reassuring but when she doesn't, it makes me a little crazed.

I did find a brochure from another dentist over the weekend. I think it came in the mail. The other dentist is relatively conveniently located, does sedation dentistry and has a nice brochure. When I first got it, I hung on to it in case I ever got the urge to actually do something and then when I did, it was lost in the boxes. Now it is out of the boxes and on my desk as a Plan B.

When last I heard, Sheri was going to meet Dinah at my house today. Dinah is the painter who is going to paint the mural over the window seat. Today was to be a site visit to get a plan going and a viewing of the fish pictures Dinah requested and Sheri and I collected. Sheri expects to get a bid for the job from Dinah today and a date when she can start. Dinah is pregnant - about 7 months or so, if I remember correctly. I'm all resigned to the mural getting interrupted by baby delivery. If it even gets started before. Sheri is convinced it will be started and finished before the baby comes. We'll see.

I went to dig out the manual for my Go Video DVD/VCR player last night. I wanted to make sure I had the cables, etc. to hook it up the way I want it to be hooked up (instead of the way it is hooked up now) when the new TV comes on Sunday. I found it fine, but also found the manuals for about 10 VCRs that I have had in my past. I have none of them now. I tossed 'em. There were also manuals for four different universal remotes - none of which I have now. All of these were in a three ring notebook. I ended up tossing about half of the stuff in the notebook out.

I then tried to find the manual to my current and favorite universal remote and realized that I could find it faster on the web which turned out to be very true. And, of course, it turns out I could have found th Go Video manual the same way.

I have two huge binders of manuals. Sounds like a good weekend project would be to get the PDFs of all those manuals into one spot - with backup and URLs and toss out the binders. It's on the list.

Just in case you decide to change dentists, don't forget to get your mouth xrays you paid for already so you don't have to have them done again.

ohhhh excellent point! of course, if I can't get an answer from these people, I would suspect that getting my x-rays is going to be a bit of an issue.
