Ok, a little less doom
Jun. 30th, 2005 01:16 pmBut, you know what? Quite honestly, in the time between these calls, I'd pretty much decided that I was going to get out of this all together... hmmmm
Casey called back and her shit was much more together. Very together. Apparently the no antibiotics is ok and she will have a pain medication (narcotic) prescription for me on Wednesday. And, she asked if Kieran can walk me into my condo and make sure I was settled before he took off and thanks to
ruby_stone's comment on my last entry, I was able to answer brightly and convincingly 'Oh yes!'
The reality is that he will if I want him to and if I don't feel like he needs to then I'll get out at the sidewalk.
I also made sure we had this exchange:
Me: So I'll be stupid, right?
Casey: Oh yeah, you'll be asleep. But, we can wake you up.
Me: I just want to make sure that I'm not awake or aware of what's going on.
Casey: You won't remember a thing.
We are going to have that conversation again when I got in this coming Wednesday so she can take my blood pressure. Ok, Plan B is back on the back burner. Man, I'll be glad when this is over.
Hey,
canuckgirl, your deal was in the morning, right? And you went to work the next day, right? I remember you were in real pain but I do think you worked... I could go look it up... Edit: And I did look it up and it was on Friday and you were still feeling like crap on Monday. Ugh. Not the news I was looking for. My plan is to take Tuesday off and go back to work on Wednesday. Maybe I'd better make Wednesday a 'if you see me, great, if not, fine' day.

Date: 2005-06-30 08:41 pm (UTC)I actually did go back and look at the journal details. Ugh. Oh well, better to know ahead of time. Thankgoodness for a trail blazer!
I think I'can tell Stephen that I'll be in on Wednesday if I can and if not, then I won't. He'll be cool with that.

Date: 2005-06-30 08:45 pm (UTC)Oh I read a book recently that made me think of you - The Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1931499160/qid=1120164236/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/102-0491904-8774531?v=glance&s=books&n=507846).
They have instructions on how to knit socks on 2 needles! I just may be able to make socks one day - though I still want to come visit at some point and get you to show me how to manage knitting in the round on dpns.

Date: 2005-06-30 10:47 pm (UTC)Mine were deep cleaned, but no cutting. I had very little pain. I think we are each different.
I really was amazed that I had so little pain. The pain that got the whole thing going was over by the time I had any work done.
I had a prescription for narcotics, but never needed it.
Hopefully yours will be like mine.
