Move on along... This entry is all about the dental drama...

The simple take-your-bloodpressure appointment turned out to be an hour and a half of talking and explaining and waiting and I am really ready for this to be over.

On the up side, the dentist is really very nice. Really. And patient and kind and gentle. He spent a long time with me and made it very easy to ask any and every single question I could think of. He swears I will not be in pain. I told him I didn't believe him. He said I would have soreness but not pain. We could be confused by definitions...

But, he is not a fan of preventative antibiotics! And he did not give me a prescription for pain killers. He told me 1 or 2 ibuprofin with 1 or 2 tylenol would be all I needed and I guess I believe him. Since I rarely ever take either one, they might just be fine. I do plan to lay in some soft foods.

Oh and they told me to wear Depends as a precaution. I think that's 1) hilarioius and 2) a really good idea.

I paid for the whole shebang and told them I'd see them on Monday. Thank goodness for Discover's cash back bonus!

Did he mention you might consider taking ibuprofen before getting the work done? If not you might call and ask. I know that it helped if I did that before getting my braces tightened. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory, too, so ask him if it is something he would want you to take for a bit after to keep any inflammation down.

They make pudding pops again. Just sayin!

Pudding pops are the bestesetestest ever! I was so happy to find them until I polished off the whole box in two days.

If you've said, I'm sorry I've forgotten, but what exactly are you planning to have done?

(I'm the queen of dental work - I know my dentist's ceiling like the back of my hand. )

Ok. I may be reliquishing my crown. I've never heard of them cutting your guns open to clean underneath them!! Isn't that kinda like cutting open your legs to rinse off your bones?

Good luck, and remember "that which does not kill us makes us stronger". Or some darn thing.

I am sure you will be fine. If not, I will send you some pain pills they prescribed for me when I had a couple of teeth extracted and I never had to take even one. I actually didn't take anything at all.
