This morning's swim was great. I was afraid that when I got there the pool would have hit a snag with the roof/skylight project and it would not be open but open it was.  I have two playlists now on music player - one is Christmas music and one is a bunch of stuff I dumped on it from my 'Woodstock-y' folder.  This morning I chose the non-Christmas playlist and was halfway into my swim when the full version of Arlo Guthrie and Alice's Restaurant came on. It had been a long time since I had listened to the whole thing.  That and the Thanksgiving timing made it a particularly welcome listen.  By the time it was done, my swim was over and it felt almost like it had just started.  Thanks, Arlo!

On the way home, I heard on NPR, an interview with Billy Joe Armstrong and Nora Jones who have now done a CD of old, little known Everly Brothers songs.  I love the Everly Brothers. I went to look at the new CD on Amazon and then discovered that there are tons of Everly Brothers 'albums' in the MP3 store.  Several on now on my buy next list.

I totally do not get Amazon's deal where you pay a bit more and get the CD and also the songs ripped.  Why in the world would I want the CD?  The only reason for me to have a CD would be to rip the stuff off into MP3's.  There is not enough room in my world for anything that I can reduce to digits and save that way.  The only exception here is maybe a few photographs that are framed and on the wall and a handful of decorative books.  Books I read, photos I look at and share, music I listen to - all needs to be digitally stored (and copied for safekeeping) so I can have it with me anytime and every time.

I'm trying to get all my financial stuff organized.  I have too many balls in the air and I need to get them all in one basket with the eggs.  Simply.  Gazelle has my old phone and I should get that $ this week.  I have year end bill paying to do and I want everything consolidated before I do that.

This week I will get that Key Bank account closed.  That is my goal.  I'm trying to do it without incurring banking fees and they are not cooperating.  My latest foray, I think is to just go into the bank and get a cashier's check for all the funds and get them to close it down.  I'm waiting now to get confirmation that I can then deposit said check via phone to my BECU account.  I sent Key Bank an email inquiry last Tuesday. I haven't heard back. I sent BECU an email inquiry this morning. I'll betcha I get an answer by noon.

Nothing big on the agenda today or really this week.  But today is Monday so I think it's time to do some laundry.  Good place to start anyway.

I have loved the Everly Bros. long time. I grew up with "Wake Up, Little Susie" and "Bird Dog". I makes me sad though that Pandora only plays the EB's 60's hits when I really love their 80's stuff. I have an LP of the "Born Yesterday" album which I never get tired of.

I'm a recent convert to BECU and love how they do business, so far. I did so simply because Harborstone CU has been a PIA due to being totally inconvenient for me since the branches in Seattle are not open on the weekends, and very few of their branches are anyway.

The closest was Tacoma that I know of on Center St, which is their main branch to boot.

When I went into the branch near me to discuss buying on my income and if it was even doable, we worked the numbers, and if I can save up for the down payment, and closing costs, it was indeed a possibility, baring I get approved for the loan, which I'd do through FHA backing anyway.
