As I peruse (or stalk, depending on your POV) my friendsfriends (now that I have the no-communities version), and dig deeper into interesting entries, I'm discovering that a lot of the people with the most interesting entries have been on LJ as long as I have. My first entry was in 2002. I guess that shouldn't be that much of a surprise but it kind of is. I'm finding new journals for my friends page that make it read more like the olden days of the early oughts. I'm generally not one of the good-old-days school but this is my exception.
I have nothing on the agenda today. There are a couple of errands I'd like to do - mainly Costco - but NFW am I even going to try them today. They can wait until the world calms down.
Today is not a great breathing day so it's probably good that there's nothing I really have to do. I really do hate that the pool is closed. I'd love to be able to get in a swim today. I feel like the swimming - helps the breathing on bad days but likely it just helps my attitude about them!
The pool opens at 8:30 tomorrow and I plan to be in that water at 8:31.
Maybe I'll go take a short walk - to get a fancy coffee or something - later.
Now I think I'm going to make myself some brunch.

Date: 2013-11-29 10:26 pm (UTC)I'm with you, you couldn't pay me to go shopping today. I need to go out this weekend, and I worry that even that will be bad...
I hope your pool is indoors! For a month I tried swimming outside in the winter, but man, it was just miserable. I'm very happy I found a gym with an indoor pool.

I ONLY swim indoors. Summer/Winter - indoors between regulation lanes. (I have really really bad lungs and can't do much out of water but, happily, I love swimming and it's something I can do easily.) Here in Seattle, we have a wonderful system of city pools open to the public. But they are all closed Thanksgiving Day and the day after.

Date: 2013-11-30 12:07 am (UTC)Oh wow, good for Seattle! Our town has nice public pools, but they're closed seven months out of the year. I have a lot of joint pain, so while I can only exercise a really short time on dry land, I can go an hour in water.
Do they have lifeguards on duty all the time? The new gym I'm at has none, which worries me a little.

Date: 2013-11-30 12:13 am (UTC)Swimming is such a savior. Yes we do have lifeguards. They won't open the pool without them. I've heard about pools (like yours, at a gym) that don't have them. Weird.
In March, I'll be eligible for Medicare and so for Medicare Advantage insurance which, around here includes something called Silver Sneakers which is basically an old people's free pass to most any gym. I'll be checking out some of those lifeguard-less gym pools then.
