Abort!! Abort!!!
Dec. 3rd, 2013 02:52 pmI got to the pool this morning - all suited up and showered (I like to soak my hair really well before it hits the chlorine - it keeps the chlorine stink out.) and I was standing at the edge of the pool waiting for the lifeguards to say it was OK to go in. Chuck (not one of my favorites) was in the pool lining up the lane markers when he got out and looked at me and said "pool's contaminated and closed for at least an hour".
Turns out he'd found poop in the pool. Nice. My friend, Cathy was in the locker room getting changed so I went in and told her NOT to pre-shower. Then I went out to the receptionist to see if I could get more info. At that point they were saying it would be at least 24 hours or 28 before they could open again. I looked at the schedule. There were a few city pools that open for lap swimming at noon so I decided to head over to one in West Seattle. I got there at 11:30 and then had to kill a half hour.
But, I finally got in the water at noon. They keep the West Seattle pool several degrees warmer than mine and it's enough to kind of be annoying but that was really the only issue. There was no lane competition and I had a really wonder swim.
I just called my pool to see how things were going and got Chuck. He said the pool was closed for today but would be open for early morning swim tomorrow. Yeah! I've had enough of pool closings!
By the time I got home, Anita was done.
She won't be back until February because I'll be in Las Vegas for a week.
