I just realized that while chlorine for an hour plus a day has totally wrecked my hair, it has cured my skin!!  I used to get horrible outbreaks of Seborrheic dermatitis - big itchy patches of tough, ugly scaly looking skin on my chin and forehead and around my mouth and near my scalp and some on my scalp. They always itched and looked and felt gross to me.

I had a tiny patch on my scalp last week that I just noticed is gone.  And with that, I realized I haven't had any on my face in quite some time!!  Way cheaper than the creams and lotions that don't really work that well anyway.

Very very cool!

Good skin is more important that good hair. At least if it is the hair that doesn't look good you can always wear a wig.

While I hate the smell (it lasts through two showers and multiple hand-washings!), I find it improves my skin, too.

I have a spiffy cap, so it's not an issue for my hair. (Plus it helps keep me warmer.)

I think our pool uses more chlorine than it needs to... (I'd rather more than less!) The town pool uses a mix of salt water and chlorine, which means they can use a lot less. I'm really missing swimming outside in the warm air!

Sorry about your hair!

The biggest problem with swimming outside is the sun. It's really strong in California! I can easily get burned in under an hour, so I have to slather sun block on.

Also, the bird laser toy arrived. Either my cat is lazy or hasn't made the connection yet that she can move it. She LOVES it, but I have to stand there and tip it for her.

I used to swim a lot in high school, so it gave me fairly good skin in a time many didn't have it.
I miss that about swimming...

Back when I was swimming regularly, my skin was great! I just bought anti-chorine shampoo/conditioner to tend to the hair.

Even if it was wrecking all my "visible" stuff, the "invisible" benefits of swimming was worth it.

Note to self: get ass back to gym for swimming...
