It's a very leisurely morning around here.  Zoey has just wound up her occasional game of hide and seek with her imaginary friend and now she's napping. I'm done catching up on the internets for the morning and am contemplating getting out of bed.

The pool closes early today but, fortunately, still way after I'll be done. The library is closed today and tomorrow as are some other city services so I'm just doubly glad the pool is even open at all.  I'll be there and ready to go at 11.

I saw this morning that several of the a capella groups from NBC's the Sing Off  - a show I have thoroughly enjoyed for all four seasons and especially this year - are doing a tour and Seattle is on the tour - and it's the very week of my birthday at a venue just down the street about a mile and a half.  But, alas, the venue like so many of them these days, has no seating. There is no way I want to - or even could - stand for an entire concert.  Oh well.

My brilliant plan to leave the heavy laptop and powerbrick at home and travel only with my Nexus 7 may have been a little too ambitious. I ordered a keyboard cover for my Nexus 7 and it will be here Thursday-ish so I can try it out ahead of time and plan to send it back for a refund if it doesn't work.  I have an old - too big and too heavy - bluetooth keyboard that I pulled out for a test.  It paired right up but was useless for, for instance, writing up this entry.  Can't have that!

But, I have plenty of time to tinker and test.  Outside of swimming today and dinner at Ann and Ron's tomorrow, I've got absolutely nothing going on for today or tomorrow.  It's my choice and one I'm perfectly fine with.

How about bringing a USB-powered chromebook instead of your heavy laptop and brick?

Ha!! It's all relative. The 'heavy' laptop I am hoping to replace with the Nexus 7 (and keyboard) is the Samsung Chromebook (model 3 - the small one). It's still way bigger and heavier (especially with the power brick) than the Nexus 7 which, uses the same charging, of course, as my phone which streamlines even moore.

Oh, the Pixel weighs about as much as the Samsung, actually, but it is bigger. If I end up taking one, it will be the Samsung Chromebook because it is smaller and has 3G and, if something happens to it, I wouldn't care that much. If something happened to the Pixel, I'd be crushed.

I had no idea there were venues for concerts with no seating. You learn something every day. I am so out of it!! I am glad you are keeping me in this century :).
