There's something ultra luxurious about sitting in bed at 8 am with the whole day ahead of you and a mile long swim behind you.  This morning's swim thoughts were about by fbhjr 's comment yesterday.  What if I did have a lap pool in my living room or in my house.  I used to think I'd never get around to using it if it were always available.  Years and years ago, I had a house with a pool.  I really did not use it much at all.

But, if I had a lap pool now, I think I'd be in and out of it all day - a lap or two here, 30 minutes there, a mile to start the day.  And no suit to have to struggle into or peel myself out of.  Just strip (or not) and pop in.  Now, that would be luxury.  But, I do like going to the pool and swapping smile greetings with swimmers I recognize and lifeguards.  I'm lucky to have such rich - and soon to be richer - pool options.

zimzat pointed me to an article in the Onion about Seattle's boring, offensive 12th man crap.  It is comforting to know I'm not the only one offended by all of it.

Today's big adventure is a new Harmony remote. Maybe.  I have a love/hate with Harmony remotes.  My current one is suffering from button fatigue.  I'm waffling between abandoning the universal remote idea all together or setting up a new one.  The new one I ordered today is a hub with an Android app.   I'm cautiously optimistic but have every intention of regifting it back to Amazon if/when it gets too frustrating.

UPS says it's out for delivery.

I also could stand to make a grocery run - I'm out of tangerines.  I need gas in the car.  But none of it is critical so I will or I won't depending on nothing in particular.

I had to get a coworker to explain to me what all the "12" signs were about. Goes to show how much attention I pay to sports. :-P

On the bus yesterday someone (possibly not all there in the mental faculties) started yelling at the bus driver about what we're going to do to the other team. I very quickly started digging out my headphones and tried to ignore it all.

There are times when it's hard to tell that The Onion is satire, especially when I happen to agree with what they're saying. XD

I've found the harmony android app works much better on a tablet than on a phone. I haven't tried it on my Nexus 7 but on the 10 most of the keys I want are in one display. On the phone I have to page back and fourth over 4 different screens. It works, it's just suboptimal.

The 12th man stuff annoyed me when I was dating a guy from Texas A&M (they have the same BS, only more so) and it annoys me now.. I'm not part of the team. I'm not a team owner. I have _no_ impact at all on the success or failure of some overpaid jock beating up other overpaid jocks for "entertainment" of the masses. I'm at the point where I'll be cheering if the local team looses so I can stop hearing about it for a while.

I have it set up on the Nexus 7 and the showstopper now is that none of the Roku buttons work. At all. I'm on the phone with Logitech. The guy has zero clue but now has me on hold and is hopefully gone off to find help.

If I can get the Roku working then I think I can tweak the Nexus 7 display to work fine. But the little remote - they call it the 'family remote' is a delightful surprise. It may be that I can get it to work for most everything I need.

We have that remote. It's... a little frustrating at times to use the remote that came with it, but when I used my Samsung Stratosphere and the app, no worries.

I am totally falling in love with the little remote. It feels so nice in the hands and I think I've put all the stuff on it I need. I can flip to the app if I need more. But, I'm diggin' this cute little thing. I may not be sending this back after all.
