Good morning!
Jul. 16th, 2005 09:01 amIt's an overcast Saturday morning which is a very good thing. Overcast means that while it's warm, it's not going to be hot. It is now July 16 and I still have not had to turn the air conditioner on yet! This is exactly what my perfect Summer is.
I actually do not have many house chores for this weekend. I do need to get some pix taken of the progress. And I need to update the makeover pages and the mural page - she did some excellent finishing on 3 of the portholes yesterday.
But, otherwise, I really have no plans so I think I might just hit the road. Or rather the walking path. For months and months and months, I walked every weekend day and every weekday that I didn't work. I had several routes - ranging from a couple of miles to about four miles. When I started the redesign project, the walking really stopped. And now, I think, when it's cool enough, I'm going to start it up again.
When you walk along the same routes you become so very aware of every little change. Now that I've been gone for six months, those little changes are likely big ones and I'm excited to go look for them.
Mom is full of piss and vinegar this morning. She just about chatted my ear off this morning. And I've already gotten 3 emails from her. She's full of plans for moving into her two room apartment (probably in September). And, she's planning for Thanksgiving. This morning she extracted a promise that we can go to IHOP. We both love IHOP and everyone else in the family just turns up their snobby noses and scoffs. My brother will sometimes take her but usually finds a way to get out of it. I promised we would rooty tooty fresh and fruity it at least once while I was there and maybe more.
My Spiderman toothpaste rocks. It's been a long time since I used any Crest toothpaste and the taste took me way back.
In the olden days, when Crest was first invented it was marketed as the Adult Toothpaste. They made a big deal out of it that children under 6 years old should not use it. (No clue why - I suspect the 'science' behind that was marketing but it was 50 years ago and my recollections are a bit foggy.)
This was huge because I was 6 and my brother and sister were not. So I got to use the adult toothpaste and the babies didn't. Lest you think I was gracious about this, think again. As I recall, I rode this holier-and-way-cooler-than-you train for the 18 months until my sister turned 6.
One taste of Crest this morning and I felt instantly superior all over again! Kind of a Spiderman feeling!
