[livejournal.com profile] tilia_tomentosa has been making adorable bunnies and finally, I couldn't stand it and had to make one. I actually made my first one a few years ago and had forgotten how clever the pattern is.  The bunny is fashioned from clever sewing up of this square.  The you add ears and a pompom tail.  I'm not quite in total love with this one.  His ass is too big and his tail too small and think maybe I overstuffed him.  So there may well be a sequel soonish.

But now it's, back to bears.

Okay, so I saw today's pic and thought, "When is there a straight stitch in that bear pattern? Aren't the pretty much curved and round all over?" So this explains it! I think this bunny is cute, but your bears are your trademark at this point.

Hmmm, how exactly did you attach the back legs? Did you sew their very tips to the body? Also, did you sew up the legs themselves from the "right" side? I'm trying to figure out what makes your bunny so different from mine. And yes, you stuffed the body more than I do.

Your bunny is still closer to the original pattern than mine. And I'm sure some kid is going to love it. :)
I
f you have such a special dislike for the tail, you could always replace it with a bigger one; that's the easiest part. But my first bunny ever (the white one in this photo) has a rather small tail too, and its owner (who hasn't got to meet it in person yet, alas) likes it the way it is.

Yes, sewing up a bunny takes a lot of patience.

If it's not loose enough for the stuffing to show through the stitches, it's not too loose. ;)

Without the pom tail, it would make a fine cat!

Will he be donated along with the bears? I know someone will be very excited to have it!

I think bears and bunnies will be great friends.

Yours looks like a kitty with his tail curled under! I've always wanted you to figure out how to do kitties.....I LOVE the bears but come on, kitties are awesome! Kitties.....a whole new revelation! Think of all the children who LOVE kitties but can't have a real one because of health/allergies.

Here's the part where I tell you what you should do and you tell me to go stick it where the sun don't shine....but if your experiment turns into the next viral phenomenon, I want credit! :)
