Crabby Appleton
Jul. 22nd, 2005 06:35 pmAnd I don't mean the band... I mean the cranky fool on Tom Terrific cartoons. That's me today. At least this afternoon. I'm sure most of it is the heat. A lot of it is I'm tired of the redecorating project.
A big piece of it is that the robot vacuum cleaner I ordered finally got here. I charged it for 24 hours. It only partially works. They have no support for it so I have no clue if I am doing it wrong or if the machine is broken. The nice man said he would send me - snail mail - a prepaid return label. I'm to put mine back in the box and send it back - snail mail. Then they will send me a replacement. And, of course, if I'm doing it wrong, the replacement ain't going to work any better plus, I will be a lot older by the time if fucking gets here.
I need to focus on non crabby stuff.
I got a coupon for free delivery from Safeway so tomorrow I'll be getting a load of heavy shit. Lots of 2-liter Diet Dr. Pepper, lots of kitty litter, cat food, etc. Nice.
It's Friday.
It's the 8th inning and the Mariners are NOT losing.
Tomorrow morning I need to make a Costco run - steak and coffee. I'll be there when the doors open - quick in and quick out. Hopefully.
Then Sheri will be here with the carpet guy. Redoing the Fish Room carpet that they pulled up to install the window seat.
Then I may get out the sewing machine. I need to redo the skirt that hides the computer stuff under the desk. The first one is the wrong fabric (doesn't hang right) and isn't wide enough. But, now I have very drapey fabric and the first ones as patterns. Should be easy. And I want to make a couple of pillows. I'm hoping a couple of small support pillows will make the chaise even better.
I guess the best part is that up until now we have had a very nice and fairly cool Summer. We have only 5 weeks until Labor Day when it gets cool again. I'm counting the days.

Date: 2005-07-23 09:27 am (UTC)I am sooooooooo damn jealous of your cool summer. Ours has been consistently above average and just an armpit of yuckiness.
Sweet jesus....I am jealous of your summer AND your winter........

Date: 2005-07-23 01:12 pm (UTC)The payment we make for a not-hot summer is no snow in the winter. It's a steep price. If it's going to be hot in the summer than I want snow in the winter. otherwise, it needs to stay cool. yesterday - and the next five weeks - was hot - in a town that does not have much air conditioning. Hot makes me very crabby. So... we're looking at 5 weeks of crabby. Sorry.

Date: 2005-07-23 11:50 am (UTC)I would be tired of the project, too. Seems like someone is always invading your space, specially on your days off.
Good luck with the job.
