Hot.

We were promised a break in the heat yesterday and it was no where to be found so now we have all of the heat of last week plus yesterday and today... the accumulation is wearing on me. Part of it is psychological and part of it is real. This old building is constructed using thick thick (like 18" thick) 100 year old brick and timber. It was a railroad warehouse. The natural insulation is heaven in the winter. I have turned my heat on twice in 13 years. (Once when I moved in, to see if it worked and again about 5 years later to see if it still worked.)

That same insulation keeps it cool until the heat works its way in and then it stays. And now it's here. And I hate it. The A/C is working hard. So at least I will have rooms that, if I don't move too much or too fast, are bearable.

But, forget my going anywhere. I might go down to the garage to take a load of trash to the dumpster but that will be it. I'm here for the day and probably for tomorrow. But, that's ok. I have teddy bears to make, two movies from Netflix, baseball game at 1 and enough food, and chores I can do if I feel the need but nothing that has to be done.

Oh and there's the Summer parade tonight. It starts at the Space Needle (the other end of town) and ends up here in my parking lot. It used to be still going full steam when it got here but in past years it's kind of fizzled by the time it gets to where I can see it but it's still fun to see the parade fodder.

For today, however, I'm thinking cool thoughts...

Could be worse...humidity and higher temps.
I have only been to The Torch Light Parade (do they still call it that?) once.
Stay cool! :)

But I'll be moving heavy boxes in Dublin for the next few hours and out there it will be hot and horrid.

Forgive me?

I hate it.
for 2 weeks at work Id been sitting under freezing cold air conditioning. wrapped up in warm blankets to keep from freezing to death.
at night I have six fans pointed directly at me and wake up in the morning completely void of any fluids. seriously. I can hardly blink my eyes.
NOW - I am sick as a dog.

summer parade?
is that the seafair parade?
I saw the seafair pirates on their pirate mobile stuck in traffic the other day. it was almost a parade.

I love your little perch in life!
you have a birds eye view of all the goodstuff!

those swanky phalic fans that we loved so much and had to have? really suck when it comes down to really moving air, dont you think?

wish Id of gotten one of those hard core little turbo ones now. at night when its cool outside its still hot in here and I dont have a fan to draw the night air inside.
ARGH.

HOT.

All the time we were on the east side of the Cascades I would look at the paper and say "well, it's pretty cool in Seattle, anyway."
