Well, I've pretty much fucked this day away. But on the up side, the heat is under control in here. And the Blue Angel noise was not as bad as in past years.

I discovered that Jake has been 'watering' the throw rugs in the big bathroom. It looks like it's been going on for a while but my smeller which only works about about 10% capacity only picked up the notification today. The rugs (two of them) are in the wash and I washed the floor and laid down a nice misting of vinegar. I'll mist the rugs when I get them back down, too.

In the Summer desert of tv viewing, I've found two newbies that I really like. Small Space, Big Style on HGTV and Recipe for Success on Food TV. Both very good shows.

It does not appear as if the Mariners are going to embarrass Chicago again which is nice of them. It's 3-0 in the 1st.

I was looking at the last 40 images posted on LJ and saw your kitty. I had to comment and tell you how cute it is:)

I discovered that Jake has been 'watering' the throw rugs in the big bathroom. One of my two cats, Misty, does this on occasion also. She does it when she's not happy with the state of the litter box and I usually need to do a "deep cleaning" of the litter box that I normally do twice a year (about every six months). If I don't do this "deep clean" on time, Misty certainly lets me know. It's very annoying.

Sometimes it's as simple as the litter box doesn't have enough litter in it for her liking. She's very finicky about her box. She also will have nothing to do with the crumbs at the bottom of the food bowl when it's near empty. Callie, on the other hand, has no problem eating them at all. It could be the only food in the house and Misty will not touch them for anything but boy will she make sure that you know all about it, even if you are sleeping. ;-)

Sure thing, hope it helps.

Misty never goes on the other rugs *unless* something is not to her liking about the litter box and I am soooo glad it's not a habit thing with her otherwise I'd have a real problem. I just end up washing the rugs real good in the washing machine and the problem is resolved (well, as long as I fix the litter box! ;-)).

I'm sure you know this, but incontinence in an older cat, especially a male one, can be a sign of trouble in the health department (I seem to recall reading that Jake is somewhat old - cat-wise, of course). I'm not saying that anything is wrong, but maybe it's something to look out for.

Of course the way cats operate, if they notice that they get away with a thing like this once, they automatically think that it's an okay behaviour from then on (I do not have a very sensitive nose, and newspapers retain smell pretty well, so it took my a long time to figure out that the cats were using the heap of discarded newspapers in my entryway as their toilet, and once I found out, the carpet underneath was ruined). I now try to severely limit heaps of anything (clothes, paper, etc.) since some of them seem to think this is an open invitation. ;-)
