I was reminded, at 6 am when I left the garage to go to the pool, that there is a Seahawks game tonight. Early fans were already on duty. I did remember to look up and add all the Seahawks events to my calendar. Better to be ready than surprised by not begin able to get home.

The tire light came back on in the car yesterday. I have an appointment for its annual checkup next Friday. I thought about running it back in today but none of the tires look even low 24 hours later so I think I'll just keep an eye on them all and hang tight until next Friday.

But I do need to go out today. I need ice cream.

I finished my JoJo Moyes book last night. And dreamed about the characters all night. This is the second of hers I have read. The book blurbs brag about plots that, frankly, leave me nodding off but... while the blurbs are always spot on, her fabulous story telling makes these plots really work. Plus her women are always the kind of women I would like to be - smart and strong and independent and open and kind and flawed.  Happily, for me, she has books already written that I haven't read yet.

But, first, I'm going to give Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a go. I have not read it or seen the movie and really don't think I'm going to like it but it's a library audio book so no harm no foul. And my brother keeps telling me that I would love it so I need to at least give it a try.

Today's baseball is at 4. I'm not hopeful about the outcome. They are playing in Detroit and Detroit is a serious team. So I am going to wallow in the great baseball fan benefit of living on the left coast.

I've tried The girl with the dragon tattoo. I got about forty pages in before I gave up. It's all a bit "Meh" for my liking. But, different people like different things, you may well enjoy it. Maybe if I'd had it on audio rather than in paperback I'd have enjoyed it.

I thought The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo started out slowly, but was glad I persisted with it and ended up liking it (and the rest of the trilogy) quite a lot. But be forewarned that there is a lot of violence against women.

I thought the first 100 pages of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo dragged, but after that I was hooked and it was definitely worth the slow start, I think it was just setting the scene if I remember right.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was actually quite a good book, though there is a lot of sexual violence against women. I liked the book, but wasn't able to get into reading the second book because it was just too much violence to read about one after another (I tend to read trilogies one right after another). I should try to read the second book again and wait a bit before trying the third book.
