Mariners afternoon game...

I can't even believe I'm thinking this... But it's hardly fun playing these poor Kansas City guys. They loaded up our bases in the first and then delivered a perfect pitch to our batter for a grand slam home run.

And we are in the 1st inning.

This is just sad.

I can't complain. I'll take what I can get at this point.

That's right. They wouldn't want us to not do our part.

Sad that they give you hope before snatching it away?

just think. I'm a Mariners fan AND a KC fan. It's like watching my marginally talented child beat up my physically challenged child with asthma and can't find his inhaler. I love them both and I want them both to win, but I know how it's going to wind up.

sigh

Yes,I definitely am putting a LOT of energy into the Seahawks making it to the superbowl this year.

Mostly because they're looking STRONG. And my Titans are sort of mediocre (as per usual) although with great potential.

You know what really sucks? My Seahawks are playing my Titans in December in Nashville in December. That in and of itself doesn't suck, except that I'll have just had the baby at that point and going to the game is right out. Which makes me sad, because I have been waiting and praying for that game to happen for years! It's so unfair.

I'll tell you what though, if the Seahawks or the Titans make the superbowl, baby be damned, I'm getting granny to babysit and I'm going to Detroit for the game. Who thought I'd ever be so excited to go to Detroit? Or ANYONE would be excited to go to Detroit?

D'oh!

The Royals are putting all their opponents in a difficult position: imagine the humiliation of being the team they finally beat. (And notice that this team was not the Mariners!)

The Red Sox are due to play them starting next Tuesday, at which time they might have the opportunity to help the Royals set an all-time record (the AL losing-streak record is 21, the MLB record is 23). But by the same token they might be the team against whom the streak is broken.

I can't decide whether or not I want Oakland to lose one of this weekend's game and remove the pressure from the Sox.

Was KC the one who roughed up Curt Snelling, destining him for the 15-day list? (I really want to like Snelling, but he's an injury magnet.)
