Perfection
Sep. 23rd, 2014 06:50 pmIt is 6:45 pm and dusk and gray and wet - that spitting kind of Northwest rain - not showers and not pouring. It's wonderfully cool with a nice little wind. Perfection. Outside on my terrace it's 65 degrees. Inside it's 79 degrees. Between the thick old timbers that make up the inside of this building and the insulating brick that covers the outside, it will take probably a week to cool down in here. But, at least I know it's going in the right direction.
The Mariners, I think, tonight clinched their season's end. If they are struck by a miracle they could possibly pull it off but so far, lately, they seem to be struck by the horrible stick. Oh well. It was a great baseball Summer.

I'm torn between wanting the Yankees to lose today and be eliminated, and wanting them to hang on until the weekend so the Red Sox can inflict the coup de grace -- preferably on Friday, when we'll be there. The problem with the latter is that I don't trust the Sox to be able to pull it off.
