Hardware, software and valances

These are the things I hate today. The list just keeps getting bigger.

I spent all damn day making the stupid valance. Sheri hung the rods and measured and bought the fabric and I questioned none of it. Bad move. The rods were either hung too high or there isn't enough fabric to make it big enough to do the job.

The whole point was to hide the blinds when they were pulled up. They get crooked and look like crap. It was on my original list. Sheri took so long to get to it that finally I suggested that instead of having a wooden box made - that would take another month - just install rods and I'd make the valance out of fabric.

Well, it's done and I can still see the fucking blinds when they are pulled up. I'm so not happy. I think there's about an inch she can lower the whole thing that will make it better but she'll have to patch up the walls where the rods are currently hanging.

And, I suspect, that it will be months before that ever happens. Fuck.

And it's hot.

Today's Mariner loss starts in 20 minutes. Think I should try and install that printer again now? I don't. Tomorrow's probably fine for that.

Do you want to know something very strange?

I suddenly realised that I hadn't read anything from you in absolutely ages, and I couldn't remember ever taking you off my friends list, so I went into my client, and checked, and there you were.. but when I look at my userinfo, you're not there.

So I thought "well, I'll just add her again, and see if that makes a difference" but instead, livejournal tells me you don't exist.

"ohno!" thinks I, and I go to check, and lo and behold, you're still here.

Weird.

Very strange! The minute I saw your name in my inbox, I thought 'wow! there's a blast from the past'. And instantly, of course, realized that I hadn't seen any of your posts in a long time either.

You weren't even on my friends list. But at least Live Journal let me re-add you. Very strange, but I'm sure glad to hear from you! Now I need to go read your entries and catch up.

I'm no curtain expert, but couldn't you just add a short fringe (I think that's the word I'm looking for - something of the same colour (or different) that hangs down from the bottom of the valance) to it?

You could do what one of my aunts always does. Or not ;)

Lace is her solution to everything? Curtains too short? Skirt too short? Add a layer of lace. Neckline too low? Put some lace in there.
