On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I start my day with a swim. By 8 am I am done and home making coffee. It's such a great way to start the day. It makes me feel like the day cannot go bad when it starts that good. I really have nothing on the agenda today but, heck, I swam a mile already so who cares??!!

tilia_tomentosa has an entry this morning of a baby hat she is making. Yarn pattern designers often test their patterns on the crochet/knitting website - Ravelry. They call out for testers and get scads of replies. The testers get first and free looks at new patterns and the pattern maker gets OH so valuable QA. It's a win win. I have way too many things I want to knit and crochet already and need to keep up bear production so I rarely even peek at the test offerings. But the hat that

tilia_tomentosa is doing just fascinates me. It's an idea I've never seen before. I don't want a baby one and I want the top to have more poof. So... I bought a pattern from that same designer that is a hat with more poof and plan to fashion the braided band on to it. I have a yarn order set up that I haven't yet pulled the trigger on. So I hopped over to that site to see if they had any more of this cool chenille yarn they had last time and they do and it's on sale for $1!!! One $1 skein is plenty for this hat so win!!!

Zoey's still eating the canned food which is fine by me. I think it's better for her than a steady diet of nothing but dried food. I put about a third of a small can into her dish and she goes at it but leaves about half. That leftover gets crusty and gross but she comes back and polishes off every time. I wonder if it's not a winter thing. She's way more snuggly, too.
