My Saturday

susandennisMy swim was cut short by Backstroke Girl but I got in a good 1050 yards before she showed up so it wasn't a total loss and I got to see my Croatian friends. They are a very cute couple who introduced themselves to me a while back. They have very Croatian names which my Cretian brain promptly lost but they didn't hold it against me. We have a thing about who gets there first. He is always teasing me that he has to get up at the crack of dawn to beat me.
Today he got there first but I got out to the pool first. I had seen his wife in the locker room. He said 'Look, did you hide car so you trick me to think I won??!!' hahaha His wife and I assured him that he really did win today. The past few weeks the pool has been crowdeder and crowdedr on Saturdays. They've been gone for the past two Saturdays so I warned them.
While I was in the shower, she came in - they had cut their swim short, too. She said they would probably start coming about 11:30ish when it's not so crowded. I really don't want to swim later. I don't know what I'm going to do. Probably just accept that Saturdays are short swim days.
After my swim I went back to the Witness - the brunch place I tried last week. I walked in and the waitress came over and gave me a giant HI!! I remember you from last week! She asked me my name and told me hers was Megan and she's be here every Saturday. I allowed as how I probably will be, too!
Then on to the grocery store where I not only found tangerines but several different kinds!
Then onto Bartells where I did not find what I want. I have crisp new bills for two Christmas gifts. I want some kind of festive cool wallet cards OR a Christmas card that says Thank You! I got little miniature shopping bags that are OK in case I can't find something funner. It's on my list of things to shop for in Vancouver.
I spent some time gathering what I need for a traveling yarn project for my trip. 8 hours in a bus and then two evenings in a hotel really needs something to knit or crochet. I'm ready now.
Then the rest of the afternoon was taken up with watching a mindless movie. All in all, not a bad day.
