This may be the best photo I ever get of my wonderful neighbors. They and their cleaning lady are taking down their outdoor tree. (They took down the indoor tree earlier in the week.)

These guys would likely be totally freaked by how much time I spend watching them and missing them when they even go out for the evening and conjuring up their back story.

I kind of use my big living room window as a television, and like to watch the world outside. I know way too much about my neighbors.

To be honest, I think I would be a little freaked if I thought a neighbour was taking my photograph to put up on a social media site.

It is as you say, just as well I don't live across the street from you. We have privacy laws, which do not allow the posting of photographs online without the permission of the subject, I would be surprised if the US does not have similar laws.

You may well be missing the 'privacy' gene, but perhaps your neighbours have it. You have the right to have as little privacy as you wish, but others have the right to be a private as they wish. You just didn't give them a choice. And yes I get that you have no way to contact them, that being so you don't know what they would chose.

I put on performances on a daily basis with the assumption that the neighbors are watching. They have requeated that I stop. Aparently there's a petition?

"Your wonderful neighbors" so I'm assuming that you know them and are friends with them.
They don't mind you posting the photo on an unlocked Journal?

You should use the new oven to bake them an apple pie and welcome them to the neighbourhood :-)
